More than a place to stay

The exhilarating views and access to the wilderness are just the beginning of what this extraordinary place has to offer.

Westhaven is a privately owned and let floor with two apartments in the Binna Burra Skylodge complex at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge. As Westhaven is privately let the accommodation packages and facilities offered by the Mountain Lodge are not automatically available. However staying in one of our apartments does mean that you can independently book the activities and dining on offer at the Binna Burra Mountain Lodge which has a lot to offer guests.

Sadly, the original 1930s heritage-listed guest house was destroyed in the September 2019 bushfires but operations at the Mountain Lodge have resumed and their menu of activities includes guided hiking and walks, and adventure activities like archery.

The Binna Burra Mountain Lodge offers a dining option a short walk from Westhaven.

The Lamington Teahouse is licensed and is open 7.30 am to 7.30 pm most days, and 7.30 am to 8.30 pm Friday and Saturday. Take in the views with your tea and coffee, or breakfast, while enjoying their cafe menu. Or enjoy lunch or dinner with a glass of wine or beer.

Binna Burra is in season, all year round

The wildlife, foliage, and ancient landscape have something to offer you in all seasons. Queensland's climate rolls gently through a cycle of cool, sunny and dry (autumn to winter) to warm, temperate and rainy (spring to summer).

Spring to Summer

During the warmer months, you can escape the heat and humidity in Brisbane by traveling just 90mins by car into the cool mountains of the Gold Coast's Hinterland, where Westhaven is nestled. Summer also offers you all drama and excitement of storms rolling through the valley. Enjoy dinner and a show without leaving the apartment. During the day enjoy a hike to the waterfalls and streams that surround Binna Burra.

Autumn to Winter

During the colder months enjoy all the magic of the clouds snuggling into the mountain range from the warmth of your cosy fireplace by night. During the day immerse yourself in the crisp clear air, scented by the eucalyptus scrub, while you take one of the heritage walks accompanied by the birdsong choir and sounds of nature.
